Fundamental Process in Agriculture

AgriCloud Project for SDGs

Introduction

The 1996 World Food Summit agreed to define "food security" as follows: FAO and other countries around the world follow this definition.

"A situation that exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. "

Then, at the United Nations Millennium Summit held in New York in September 2000, which was attended by 189 countries, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were compiled based on the United Nations Millennium Declaration. The MDGs have set eight goals to be achieved by 2015.

The "SDGs" (Sustainable Development Goals) were listed in the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. The SDGs set 17 goals and 169 targets as specific action guidelines, and stated that in the food sector, hunger would be ended, food security and nutrition could be improved, and sustainable agriculture should be promoted.

However, the development target has hardly been achieved due to the increase in food demand due to the increase in the world population and the change in dietary habits of emerging countries with remarkable economic development.

Agricultural land reduction and soil deterioration cannot be stopped. Decreased yields and soaring materials reduce productivity. Environmental degradation and depletion of water resources further reduce productivity. Deterioration of food quality and nutritional value leads to an increase in medical expenses. Food loss will only increase and will not be resolved at all. Agricultural technology is a mix of good and bad, and where are we going?

Farmers' technical skills did not improve, their incomes did not improve, and their departure from agriculture increased. The reality of the agricultural economy, where large developing companies and declining farmers coexist, remains very unclear.

In addition, political instability conflicts, climate change and the spread of pests and diseases expose vulnerabilities in the global food supply chain and threaten food security.

Why can't they solve the problem?

We have been involved in agricultural and environmental technology for over a decade and have seen many solutions and cases.

However, we cannot achieve great results with technical assistance alone.

So what should we do?

The AgriCloud Project came up to solve these problems.

The AgriCloud Project will contribute significantly to the reduction of climate change and social costs, the development of agricultural economy and agricultural investment, and will bring great benefits to farmers, businesses, consumers, investors and society.

In the proposal, we will consider the reason why many problems are not solved and propose the AgriCloud Project as a solution.
